You can fit this and think you can get a ecu tek remap, failing this apexi commander is a great mod anyway. Depending what you want i would go with TD05 seireies turbo, options of 16g - maxes about 330 bhp, 18g - maxes at 370 or 20G for 450 BHP plus with supporting mods but depends what you want

My MY99 has this turbo and had an ECU TEK and a Scooby Clinic remap.
This was all before I got it.
It pushes out 288 bhp

VF28 is good for 320bhp and should spool faster than a TD05.

Above 330 lbft you need to watch your gearbox although this will depend on how you drive and how your car has been driven.

You will need a new ECU AFAIK as I think the 98 isn't remapable so look for an Apexi expect to pay about £940 + VAT fitted and mapped.

I paid £400 inc vat and delivery for my Apexi PFC and commander used from Ebay. AndyF mapped it for me for £200.

Not many options for MY98. Try ScoobyMania Online Shop as I think they have a SimTEK ECU that looks to be a good piece of kit.

Do my own mapping now! Anyone got a spare engine??!!??!!

Also, Harvey achieved 370 odd HP with a VF28!! He did have ALL supporting mods though. For us normal folk, around 320 -350hp is about right.

Wayne.

PS Damo, go to bed mate!! Do you ever sleep?

Damo, I thought the TD05 was far better at spool up than the VF28?

My VF29 hybrid is fairly late with 1 bar at 3600rpm. TD05's normally see 1 bar at 3300rpm or below.

Gents.

Just seen this thread on the live feed, apologies for my ignorance! My car is a MY05 Spec C, will any of these turbos help me out in search for more power? Mines a twin scroll something or other ...

Not if its a twin scroll. All of these are single scroll.

Best place to try is AndyForrestPerformance for turbo advice and supply.

Speak to AndyF via the email address on his site.

Alright Wayne,

AFAIK the VF28 spools quicker than the TD05, I saw a post by Andy F recently that listed the order of spool for a number of turbos and the TD05 was after the VF28 and 29.

1 bar by 3600rpm, which gear is that in?

Exceptional result, I willingly agree and when I went to a bigger turbo and no further mods I had 427 bhp.

I now have a VF28 on an STi 3 Wagon at 333bhp[fairly modest mods] which is nearer the normal mark.

or 20G for 450 BHP plus with supporting mods but depends what you want
Absolutely no way.

Just curious Simon, when you say 'all in' do you mean incuding VAT ?

the import wagon has a td04 standard..

all other 92~96 (phase 1) have td05.. ie. saloon import and uk and uk wagon.

Better not do more than one install per week then if you want to stay that way

So you're actually £5 more expensive rather than £134 cheaper. Just needed a reality check

not sure I am with you on the one a week.. current threshold is 64k..

my accountant is advising wrongly or rightly* that currently all I would do would increase my paperwork and increase the end price to the customer.

* That is another discussion and fail to see how this is helping this thread, I did not realise the original quoted price was yours Andy and did not set out to annoy you.

Don't want to get into a debate but the original quoted price (by me) wasn't from Andy's site
