Had a few problems with my sti4 lately, 1. Top hose had a split so replaced with samco set. 2. Radiator was leaking so replaced with new one. 3. Had a 1.3bar rad cap on which i noticed was leaking so i put my standard 1.1bar cap back on. 4. After driving hard water comes out from the overflow pipe/bottle by the battery. The only thing i can think is head gaskets, i dont think its got an air lock because i get hot air from the vents and the thermostat seems to be opening fine aswell. Just wondering what you guys think???

 

Any other symptons?, mayo under oil cap or in water?, heater blowing cold/hot air?

 

No mayo substance anywhere and heater does blow out hot air

 

Has been confirmed as head gasket starting to fail so now on the hunt for a headset, anyone know the best place to get one?

 

there is a full head gasket set on ebay at present for about £50 dont know what make as i was just scanning through and noticed it.
might be worth having a look.

 

il get on there now then,just a bit worried bcus i think they change sets in 98 and mine being a version4 is on the change
