Default sti crankshaft info

hi
ive just brought sti crank for a 1994 sti and im not sure if there's any difference in the crank for the thrust bearing location, either the crank can be run on the rear thrust or the centre thrust.is there any difference?
if so what should i look out for on the crank?is there any markings?

thanks si

It will be a Center Thrust crank and they are not interchangeable with the later cranks/rear thrust block.
Get your old thrust main bearing and sit it on the center main journal and the rear main journal - you will soon see.

The crank for a 92-98 engine block should be center thrust, and there would only be one position on a 92-98 block for the thrust baring to be fitted.

The crank pt.no should end with 150.

Mark.

Try your thrust bearing on it - that will tell you 100%

ok ive now checked the thrust bearing on centre of the crank,it fits like a glove on the sides but theres a little movement between the bearing and journal, this is normal i think because ive tryed my old 1's and there a bit worn.try it on the rear thrust and move side to side.

£100 i payed for this crank with connecting rods still attatched and its like a brand new crank

cheers
si
