Just fitted a stainless induction filter last week and yesterday i noticed a very small tapping noise coming from a small sensor infront of the filter. Its bout the size of a cylindrical torch battery and sounds like a relay. I can only hear it when i add a few hundred revs, over a thousand and its lost in the engine noise. Its probably nothing but if someone could put my mind to rest then it would be a great help. By the way i havnt noticed any torque loss due to the filter but have noticed a definate improvement in power. Cheers Ad.

It's the wastegate solenoid, it's nothing to worry about.

Wink

i had exactly the same experience a few days ago when adding a Dawes boost controller.

I think you just listen a bit more to the noise of the engine makes when adding mods - suddenly all the normal noises it made before you modded the car sound louder and you start worrying about them.

My cars now got piston slap, noisy tappets, blowing exhaust etc.

Lets face it, the scoobies not got the quietest engine bay and a few worries soon blow these noises all out of proportion.
