Cool

I just received mine, dual EGT/boost gauge (complete kit with sensors, thermocouple, instructions etc).
Not fitted yet but my problem is that the boost meter need an adaptor to fit in the intake manifold. Also I am not sure if the up side of my Magnex downpipe is good place for the thermocouple, as I don't want to drill the turbo or the exhaust manifold.
AFAIK they are famous in Audi tuners.

Ok Sam I'll inform you, as I have to fit the downpipe the same time with the gauge.
My dealer told me that the turbo or ex. manifold is the best place for the probe, but he suggest me against on this - just for safety - and bear in mind he has his probe near the lamdasensor!
Now my problem is to find a good A pillar pod for the gauge, do you know where?

Scooby Mania do the pods for 52mm gauges (SPA etc) I think there about £45 ish. Would like to know what you think when set up. Like is it easy to view at speed like a needle gauge.

Hi All
My gauge is from SPA directly (http://www.spa-uk.co.uk/) cause Mike-Scoobymania didn't answer my mails about gauges, A pillar pod and their new remote led knocklink sensor, I don't know why!
He didn't want my money may be!!!
It cost me 262,21 UKP including shipping and the delivery time was only a week.
Now I am searching for the pod, may be leather hand-made is the solution for me.
Cheers
JIM

PS: Sorry for my poor English!

Sam,
You can get SPA gauges with any variation i.e. temp/temp, pressure/pressure, temp/pressure.
The temp gauges are able to function for EGT too.

The best thing about these gauges (apart from their cracking good looks!) is their switching features - ability to switch things on and off at limits chosen by you.
Nice peak holding feature too.
Loads of bits to fiddle with on them!

But then you have one already don't you...........

Oh well.
Fair chance the generic pressure/pressure variant might've done the job.
If not they have been known to make these gauges up to customer requirements.........

Website too, think it's www.spatechnique.com or www.spa-technique.com

Nice techy section.

Cheers

As Russ says all SPA Temp Guages are capable of displaying EGT as their operating ranges are selectable.

The reason the EGT is so expensive is because of their use of thermocouple & amplifier.

For further info on EGT Guages see http://www.spatechnique.com which is far better than their UK site.

The "Instruments" section has some nice pics of the Boost/EGT Guage.

And the "Tech" section shows how their Termocouples work & explains how their Temp Guages can be setup to take EGT.

The Build quality & their ability to store peak readings makes SPA top grade guages - unfortunately this comes at a price.

Suggest you speak to SPA. They are helpful & can give many options. Just explain your requirements. I have dual boost & temp. from I/C to throttle body. Digital boost is good, no probs reading it, can set any over boost warning light point, reading sampling is variable from 0.1sec to once every 20secs. Set mine at0.7secs. Records max boost spike & lots more features. Also shows vacum as neg sign (-).Temp guage has numerous functions too. Just state max temp you need & select best guage from the range to suit. NOT CHEAP. Also have microprocessor/speedo. V/good. Shows how optomistic these speedos are.

Three x 52mm guage pod Scooby Mania £80 approx. Fitted in place of the glove box top centre of my dash with no drilling or any type of fixing. Push fit. Looks smart too. (STi Ver6 Wagon M/Y 00.)

Sam

I fitted autometer oil press & boost guages in a pillar pod for an Evo7 customer.I used a mechanical oil press, utilised one of the blanks on the side of the oil filter housing and guage came with the perfect fitting for plumbing it into there. And guages lit up perfect red to match dash..nice one

We used a universal carbon effect twin pillar pod from demon tweeks, the guages were autometer phantom with silver backed dials and black surrounds, lit up red.Pod just needed slight trimming round the edge to match the contour of the pillar.Next time its in I'll get a piccy of it for you.BTW the HKS guages look the biz

hi jim
that is what i was looking for boost/egt. as for the EGT probe the best place is to probably fit it in the turbo but that is a lot of hassel. i would fit mine in the down pipe as close to the turbo as possible. not as good but much more convenient to fit. the turbo up pipe may also be a good place but you will have to remove the turbo and the exhaust manifolds to access it.

tell me how you get on.

comeon guys surely more poeple have tried these?
sam
