can anti-lag be mapped in with an apexi pfc and what else do i require

 

Do you want a full anti-lag system or just pops and bangs.

You need a full de-cat for both for a start.

 

sure the apexi doesnt allow anti lag, however it can be set up to pop and bang giving an anti lag effect (without stressing the turbo), however some people do say it can damage exhaust valves as the pop and bang effect is produced by retarding the ignition and injecting fuel. I did it for a while with my apexi but I got bored of it to be honest. (still get the odd one which I dont mind), but like 500 says full decat required

 

In a word.....No you will need an ecu like a Simtek or gems etc.

 

thanks for the advice ,i have a full decat system and a hks equal length manifold,i was wondering if it can be set up on a swtich so i can turn it on and off as iv seen this in a few cars before i really only want the pops and bangs but what is required for the proper system

 

You can map the apexi for pops and bangs but not AL, if you do a search with the heading pops and bangs there is a thread telling you how to set your power FC up for this. I think Andy F can set this up on a switch using the AC button.

To be honst I don't think I would want it on all the time, switchable would be better.

Got ALS on my Simtek !!

Tis on a switch !! - so at the touch of a button 'pops and bangs' are there...

to be fair though............ it's VERY rarely used....

I've only had it on a handfull of times.......... initially when I had it and when a few people have asked what its like.....

Think I asked this question before, but why is it that Evo's can have ALS as part of an ECUTek remap and we cant?

 

mine already pops and bangs v.v loudly sumtimes get the odd flame aswell want bigger flames tho

 

Yes, i've had it done by AndyF. It certainly sounds as loud.
