3 port boost solenoid (cant seem to search)
Sorry for this - can't seem to search like I used to - just the google tool at the top, which isn't as relevant as the forum search i used to be able to use?
Any way.
I have a 3port boost solenoid and found 1 pipe dangling last night.
1 goes to the turbo outlet
1 goes to the waste gate actuator
and the 3rd? Is it just a vent to atmosphere or should it be plumbed into something?
Thanks

well i think that u mean the port right at the bottom. on my 1994 wrx it goes back into the air distributer box that sits between the air pipe that comes from the turbo and the mass airflow sensor. it shouldnt really be giving you any problems, but boost problems have been identified.
i assume that it will be similar set up on ur engine.
hope this helps

Yes it is the output at the bottom of the soleniod.
I just can't remember where i plumed it when getting remap done and there doesn't seem to be a suitable receive port thats free.

I also have a three port which I retrofitted to my MY98 WRX. As you say, one goes to compressor outlet, one to actuator. The mystery third one is the 'exhaust' port on it, that simply dumps excess boost signal that's not needed. It goes into the turbo inlet pipe, the small outlet sticking out the top of the pipe, right before it goes under the inlet manifold and close to the power steering tank.
You could probably get away with leaving it open, but what I've described is where it should go. On a MY97/98 intake pipe you still have the outlet for it, even though these used a 2-port solenoid, because the 2-port still uses it.
