Default Boost level with AVCR OFF

MY 95 RA

I have an AVCR fitted to my car controlling boost solenoid.

If I set the AVCR to the "OFF" position, and let the wastegate only control boost (think that's how it works!), what peak boost should I see under full load?

Ta!

have a look at the boost on the avcr as it will tell you if you monitor boost

As above, but it depends on what the wastegate opens at.

ok sorry I didn't phrase my question very well!

I'm wondering at what boost level the wastegate SHOULD activate? i.e. with a standard actuator what boost level should be achieved under full load with the AVCR off?

The standard actuator is set to open at 0.7bar

So if I see 0.5 bar boost with the AVCR off that would suggest either my actuator is failing (weak) or it's been adjusted?

Yes or you might have a leak somehwere, what vaccum do you see at idle on the avc-r?

Depending on where idle settles (lol) somewhere around -400mg on the AVCr (cold engine is slightly different idle RPM from warm).

I'm getting an APS FMIC fitted soon so all pipework will be getting checked /renewed then. I know the IC Y Pipe is weak on this year of car but there is a brand new one there and car is hitting 1.6 bar no problems if I dial up duty on AVCr..

Might get an upgraded actuator fitted with the FMIC. Would a 1bar spring rate actuator help any?
