Default o.5 bar boost fault

hi guys, got a problem! i have a 2004 wrx and it has a fault. every now and then when driving ill put my foot down and it will not go, when i look at the boost gauge its only showing 0.5 bar. i can turn the ignition off restart the engine and boost will be back up to normal. this problem is starting to happen quite often now so i thought it was time to ask for help. im running standard apart from ppp. i do not get an engine warning light on when fault occurs.

used to have this on my sti. It happened if i held it for a few seconds at no boost. i.e. the guage on zero. Then booted it in the high gears. Had loads of different things checked out and couldnt cure it, Then had the ecu re-flashed 18 months ago and havent had a problem since

After many people looking at it. Although it could been seen to be doing it on computers, boost guage etc. No one new why or what was doing it.

I had it re-mapped (ecutek) and still had the same problem. I then had it mapped again where i believe the base map was totally renewed and this cured the problem

Its drive by emmissions mode, std feature on all these ecu's, even more prevalent on a Jecs, needs a map switch rom using set up with the main boost maps a certain way round, that will eliminate. JDM code doesn't seem to have it mind but that won't work in Eurospec cars.
