Default problem with turbo?

hi all,
have noticed when i put foot down hard there seems to be a longer than usual delay till turbo kicks in.i notice it more in 3rd gear through to 5th gear.car is a sti v3 facelift. ideas guys...actuator..turbo..if its lag its real bad.advice welcome guys.checked all pipe work everything seems ok.thanks in advance.

Slightly different but since I first bought Fluffy, once in a blue, blue moon I would put my foot down in 3rd mostly if memory serves and find that the turbo basically didn't feel like it was even spooling up! Coming off the gas and/or changing gear would result in normal service being resumed.

aftermarket dump valve , sticking open ?
exhaust blowing (up pipe)

Try tightening the actuator rod a turn or two and see if that makes any difference. Just need to remove the turbo heatshield to get at it. Easy job but ratchet spanners will make life easy.
