Default OBD cable

Can anyone help me,
Got problems with the CEL being on and flashing various codes.

I want to buy the cable that plugs into the diagnostic port and connect into the laptop.

I don't know too much about this and have resorted to google to try and find what I need.

This is a cable I've found - SKPang electronics

Is this the right cable ?

Also what s/w is best to use on the laptop ?

Thanks
Matt

Personally I'd look out for a cheap second hand SECS unit.....It will read the error codes for you, reset the ECU and also display info about the car

Thanks -
For a man on a budget those SECS are expensive pieces of kit.
Definetly looks good though.
