Check all the pipes going to the boost solenoid for any splits etc....
If this seems remove the intercooler (i assume you have a top mount).
Check for splits cracks where the dubilee clips clamp the pipe as they can tear into the plastic or silicone.

It will be obvious where the leak is coming from as there will be traces or oil around the leak.

Hope you get it sorted.

Ive managed to have a good look and from what i can see there is a little bit of oil visible where the main air induction pipe goes obnto the turbo with a jubilee clip now i no naff all about this. so could this be where the leak will be comin from?

sorry to be a pain in the **** but like i say i no naff and i aint in the habbit of pretending that i do lol

See if you can get a picture up mate. There shouldn't be any oil before the turbo, but after the turbo its normal to see a bit of oil and this helps to find the leak.

Like I said get a pic up and im sure someone will be able to help

I have the exactly the same problem as you mate, just had my clutch changed and it was ok to start with but a slight smoking and burning smell coming from the turbo area. and then the car started making a very loud induction hissing noise when you came on boost. now i`ve also had a look and can`t find any leaks either but my hose from the intercooler to the turbo is the same as yours and noticed a bit of oil present where it goes onto the turbo. I`ve done loads of searches on this and most people say it will be a intercooler hose split somewhere so i`ve bought some samcos for the intercooler and hope this will make a difference.

SOLVED MY PROBLEM!!!

I too had a loud hissing noise coming from the engine bay.
turned out that it was my hose going to my boost gauge that was leaking, can`t beleive sush a little pipe could make so much noise!!!

worth checking out too mate if you have a boost gauge!!!
