The previous Japanese owner thought that heavily tinted rear and side windows were just the thing on his black WRX.
Well now its mine and the tinted rear window is a pain especially when reversing in the dark.
So simple question - how do I remove the film, which appears to have been fitted professionally ?

On the side windows use a stanley blade and white spirit to get rid of the sticky mess left.
On the rear window, like said earlier, be careful and use plenty of elbow grease with white spirit!

Trying to reverse on an unlit Lakeland road last night after some pillock hit a gritting lorry ! ! proved that very limited rear vision is pain in the rear !
It may be cool but . . . .

err, whats up with using your side mirrors?? i drive a transit from time to time, no rear view, all i do is take a good look at where i`m reversing into, then use the side mirrors.

When removing some dealer stickers from my rear window last week I found that a tiny amount of cellulose thinners on a rag got the sticky residue off easily. Make sure all doors are open though, you don't wanna inhale the stuff.

No its a four door saloon and the Japanese owner clearly improved the car to try and get RA performance and so maybe an RA look.
In view of all the comments I've decided that life is too short - very short if I don't keep the doors open with all these thinners/white spirit mixes around - as well as potentially expensive if I make a mistake so I'm going to keep it and learn how to be "cool".
