I killed my engine help
I have a 96 wrx very sexy car unfortunatly i have a nasty rattle on the bottom end sound like a machine gun going off, I think its a main or big end bearing. I need an engine rebuild but any mechanic i ask is teryfied of the engine? is ther anyone out there who can help or advise. I live in cwmbran south wales. I would be greatfull for any help

Sound advice.
You will not get ripped off.
They are in Leamington spa in the countryside close to the M40.
Call David and they can also arrange trailered collection i think.
Over the last 6 years they have done 1100 engines, rattly bottom ends are a routine to them.

Why don't people just tell him how much it's going to cost, that's what the guy really needs to know.
From API, you're looking at around the £3000 mark for a full engine rebuild. You can do it quite a bit cheaper, but you do have to shop around. There are many other builders out there who are more than capable of rebuilding a scooby engine.

96 WRX is much nearer to a finished job at 2 grand than three.
