Default Shot in the dark

I know its a shot in the dark.

ive just got a new ecu and wondering if it can be remapped. its different to the old one as you can see in the pic.



Its for a version 4 sti, its different to my standard ecu, its got another level to it.

Whaty does it say on the cover (normally letter/number or number/letter)

Zero Sports are a tuning company so i guess you may have 1 of their chips in the new ecu David Hendry Cars - TVR, Subaru, Isuzu & Ssangyong Specialists in Wiltshire do a lot of zero sports stuff.

As far as I am aware only two were mapping the 97/98 ecu in the uk and with a daughter board.. but neither of them do it anymore to my knowledge.

So even if it was mappable no one is doing it.. etc..

daym, back to square 1, ill have to get something re-mappable.

apparently the ecu came from a 1999/2000 car

Remappable ecus arew Motec ,Gems ,Apexi power fc (hard to find for early imprezas now),Hydra,Link and PolarPerformance.
I'm sure they are more.

I cannot see the pictures from here need a better mobile.. lol

but if it is an Sti4 ecu then is cannot be mapped, if it is a 99 or 00 then it won't fit your car assuming it is a 98?

It's not just PolorPerformance doing the ESL boards btw..

i only bought that ecu because i was told it can be remapped.

*****.

I was given a apexi power fc with the commander for 50quid last year but it was a 4 plug one so it didnt fit my car.

it looked quite good tho.

so it that ecu i got useless?

Yes it will fit.. mapping costs are £250.

hmmm the previous owner of the ecu is insistant that it can be remapped.

i will have to enquire about it, and start saving for an apexi
