Cool

you may have an air leak have you checked all the pipework around the i/kit, or it may just be coincedince that it showed when you fitted the kit so could be the iacv could need a clean with carb cleaner.

Can't say what your problem is but generally induction kits and even oil based replacement filter elements are more trouble that they are worth.

If you have not got a good cold air flow you probably have less power than with the standard set up.

If it was me I'd go back to standard.

Worse case scenerio is you damaged the MAF.

Standard airbox and panell filter is all you need unless you've a FMIC or remap for an IK.

Check Engine Light on? or not?

Usually on induction kits there is a small hose that should Tee into the main inlet hose to the right of the MAF sensor...this often can get forgotten as its usually postioned under the hose where one can't see it. Also check the other end of that hose is connected too, IIRC it should go to a solonoid valve for the charcoal canister - it may pulled out when it was disturbed.

And obviously make sure the MAF sensor is connected properly - some badly fitting kits cause the connector to rub on the underside of the bonnet causing it to become loose.

Also did you reset the ECU? Sometimes the reset will show up an already failing MAF sensor.

Whilst on the subject, Stainless steal mesh and foam filters do cause the MAF sensor to get contaminated with dust and dirt, whilst oiled cotton gauze filters can coat the sensor in oil, if it is over oiled. All of which results in the sensor not working properly.

However, seeing the kit has only been on a day, I doubt this is the case - at the moment (unless the filter was very oily).
