Hello and help!
Hy guy's and gals. I am wondering if any one can help wth a little problem? The thing is that I have just had a cel light come on and go off again. I have had this happen a few times but it has never stayed on and the car is running like normall. My brother in law has owned scoobies in the past and like him I am running a kn intake. He told me that sometimes the oil can get on to the MAF and start to cause problems. So we took the MAF out of the intake and cleaned it down with brake cleaner. I also changed the fuel filter and the car does seem to be going better than normall. The cel light had not come on for a couple of days aprt from this morning and after a minuit or less went out with no problems i.e. car going into limp mode. Any ideas
Oh and by the way I am looking forward to speaking to you all cheers.

hello and welcome
..
check you ecu for faults(2 black connectors under the stearing colum). search ecu reset/ecu fault codes there is loads off info on how to read the codes and how to reset you ecu

Try this..
Turn OFF the ignition
Connect Error code Connectors and Test Mode Connectors :
2 black connectors under dash, connect black to black and 2 green connectors under dash, connect green to green, they are by your left knee when sat in the drivers seat and often taped back to the loom if they haven't been used before.
Turn ON ignition but don't start the engine
Engine Check lamp comes on
Press accelerator pedal to the floor
Then return it to the half-throttle position and hold it there for two seconds
Release foot off the pedal completely
Start the engine
Check engine light error code is indicated by Pulsing lamp
If an error is detected then Check the ECU Code
If no error is detected - drive the car sensible for a couple of minutes
i.e. until warm (do not use boost or high rpm!)
When the ECU has been reset the Check Engine Light will flash
An Error Code is indicated by a flashing check engine light
of varying length of flash,
a flash of around once a second is the okay code and indicates all is well.
If an error code is detected Check the ECU Code
Turn ignition OFF and Disconnect Connectors
If there is a fault Check the Appropriate Sensor
Error Codes
An Error code is defined as a slow flash followed by fast flash
i.e 2 slow and 3 fast = 23 Mass Airflow sensor.
A continuous on/off at the same speed is no fault found.
Code Fault
11 Crankshaft position sensor
12 Starter switch
13 Camshaft position sensor
21 Engine coolant temperature sensor
22 Knock sensor
23 Mass air flow sensor
24 Idle air control solenoid
31 Throttle position sensor
32 Oxygen sensor
33 Vehicle speed sensor 2
35 Purge control solenoid valve
42 Idle switch
44 Wastegate control solenoid valve
45 Pressure sensor / Pressure exchange solenoid valve
51 Neutral position switch

Thanks for the reply guys. I will try what you have suggested. Is there any truth about the oil on the kn, is the kn any good for my setup. The car was put on the rollers last year and hit 300Bhp. Any advice would be welcome.

Sorry to drag this thread back up but I am having some probs with my ECU I think!
I have just changed mine on my 93wrx import and reading the above, I don't have an engine check light that comes on
I have done the rest as directed in post #4. I did also have my battery disconnected for about 30mins to 1hr. I havn't been out in it yet though!
Have I got probs without the engine check light or could this be ok??
Thank you.

Not sure what that is I'm afraid
But, nothing flashed what so ever. The only lights I get on my dash are: Oil, battery, handbrake, door open and seat belt! So tbh I am not sure what other lights there are and where they are on the dash
