any think else i need to get to 330/330
hi all
i have a my99 uk turbo,
its set up was a std intercooler, rcm full decat turbo bk exhaust, sti panel filter, and ecotek 2 chip, its was sitting at 273/271,
i have now added, (but not yet chipped)
sti8 intercooler, samco hoses, walbro pump, idrium spark plugs, green cotten filter, a recirc forge dv and a atmo forge dv, vortex afterburner exhaust b/box, ported polished and wrapped std headders/up pipe, wrapped down pipe,
i think the td04 turbo is at its limit,
im looking at the andy forrest td05-20g turbo new
and a aerosmart fpr, turbo heat shield, and a apexi boost controller, and finally a re chip by someone well recommended,
basically i am aiming for a safe 330/330, also without messing up my gear box,
if i need anything else, any recommendation are welcome, including where to get a suitable gearbox if need be,
well thanks alot for looking ill keep you all posted when its done

The 20g is too big if you only want 330.. consider the 18g or 16g..
If you want to run to the potential or most of it of an 18g or 20g then consider some 550cc injectors also.

MY00 cars have 440 injectors as standard even STI's, the 20G is 380-400bhp turbo with similar tourqe, so will probably destroy your gearbox quite quickly, as they don't tend to like much over 300 lb/ft.

Yes all 440s 99 and 2000..
you could indeed install a 20g and just run less boost..
I would still go for 550s though.. just make sure you tell who ever maps it what you want from it..

Should be able to get 320bhp with a 20g, as you can knock on the door of 320BHP with a VF28 which is a smaller unit.
You may want to look into 550's or increasing the rail pressure of the 440's though as they run about 95% at 1.3bar, which is the kinda pressure you will need to run on an otherwise standrd engine).

I have a 93 wrx which was last rolling roaded at 330/305
I had the following mods
Walbro 255 Fuel Pump
Nismo 550cc Injectors
Custom Exhaust From Turbo Back Titanium Back Box
XS Power Stainles Headers & Up Pipe
Hybrid Front Mount Intercooler
Blitz Induction Kit
TD05 18g With Samco 90 degree hose
Apexi Power FC
Apexi AVCR
SX Fuel Regulator
The car was mapped to 1.5bar boost
The headers were not wrapped and boost was coming on quite late.
I recently made some changes to the spec as the head gasket went on it. Along with putting steel head gaskets and new valve stem oil seals I also fitted a new clutch, lightened fly wheel, lightened crank pulley and more importantly a set of standard ported headers which were wrapped.
The car was mapped again yesterday and was making 1bar boost at 2k and full boost at just over 3k. Not sure what power it is at now, but it is a lot faster than before
