Default Uprated fuel pumps

I am looking at getting my93WRX chipped quite soon and I have been told that I would be looking at having to get an uprated pump for it
It is running 256bhp at the moment with a full 3" stainless de-cat exhaust, induction kit and if it means anything a twin piston Bailey DV. I also have a face lift classic TMIC to put on if it will improve performance!
Will I need to get the uprated pump or would that be just a precautionary thing? Also, would it be advisable to get a knocklink aswell?

What is the price ranges I would be looking around for the above both in brand new and 2nd hand?

Thank you in advance

firstly don't buy a secondhand fuel pump. Most common one is the wallbro as it is a direct replacement for standard one. The reason I say don't buy secondhand is because these can fail, I have just had one fail on me. You may also want to consider replacing oe fuel pump regulator (fpr) with an adjustable one such as an sx or fse. Any upgrade on the I C has to be good.
price wise pumps and regulators are approx £75 each, suggest you give mark at Lateral Performance a ring 02084205444 you'll find him most helpful.

The fpr can be overpowered by the uprated fuel pumps especially on the early cars (as scooby-k said) so if you're getting the car chipped best to spend a bit of money replacing some of the parts so you don't get any problems in the future.

Thanks for the help guys
What about the knock link though? Would that be an issue with the extra increase of bhp?

I have found a pump on Ebay that comes from America but is called Baja! It is a 255lph one. Would it be any good do you reckon? Its just that it is £25 cheaper than the Walbro ones

Find out if anybody in the States is running 1 on an impreza.
These guys are selling them TREperformance.com - TRE 255 LPH Fuel Pumps - Similar To Walbro so it may be worth asking them.
