Default water/methanol injection with apexi power FC

hello,
I live in tropical region hot region (Mauritius Island) and just recently bought a JDM 99 impreza STI type R (v5). (comes with TMIC water spray)
I bought an apexi power FC straight away to setup ingnition timing so it would cope with our low octane fuel.
Now, I'm looking at water/methanol injection as a first mod to improve my car performance and reliability. which package would you recomand for my use? engine is fully standard for now, but will probably impove slowly.

where can I see install exemple with pictures and tips ?

thanks

Water injection systems, Methanol injection systems : Aquamist

AQUAMIST CURRENT PRODUCTS

diagram of 2D

2D is probably the best setup although the cheaper and less complicated 1S gives good results.

Simon, you again !!
is there something you don't know about ej20 setups ?

yeah, I had a quick look previously on those aquamist setups, they look the way to go, I didn't mention them as I didn't want to influence answers

Now that we are in subject.
what are the advantage of 2D over 1S (basicly), performance and safety sides...
I'd rather pay for right items than pay to fix the engine later... better be safe than sorry

I live in tropical country, so I've been happy to know my car came with IC water sprayers when I bought it. Now I have read that water injection nozzle can be place before or afte IC, placing them before is supposed to be better for warm day. well let's say 250 days are warm days over here as weather is usualy between 15 to 35°C (never realy hot, and never realy cold) and air is already quite water saturated.
So should I place nozzle before IC, so it would cool it down ? if yes, does IC water spray is still needed? if not, should I use its tank as water/methanol tank ? this tank already has a pump... is there any think I'm sneaking I should know with those few things mentioned?
or am I thinking wrong direction, and I should place nozzle after IC, and keep IC waterspray for IC cooling purpose

keep in mind this is an everyday road car. not a rally car. but let's say regulation over here are quite tolerant, so I could also call that "everday road car with race driving style"...

cheers
Lionel

I've used a PFC with Aquamist 2d + DDS3 to inject 50/50 water/meth mix into each inlet manifold runner with a fair amount of sucess.

IMO, whatever your setup is, you NEED to have a failsafe to drop the boost and/or retard the timing if you have a problem with the WI system.

If you want some pics and more info. - drop me a PM

very interesting fiestaboy.
I'm all for the failsafe approach !
how have you been able to triger timing on PFC when something goes wrong? I'm very curious about that.

The 2D will use less water.. as the amount if injects alters with the injector duty.. ie. the more fuel you put in the more water is injected.

there is a boost switch available to drop the boost if a problem is detected.

thanks simon, I understand 2D will have better results too as it will keep same mixture % on full rev range

I'm running the 3d setup on mine with masses of other mods (but thats another story). The 3d setup isnt that hard and you have so many options to adjust later to suit the climate and power/boost curves....3d setup is the best Id say

the 2D seems pretty popular in UK,
what do you think about the aquamist HSV-5 ?
I like the fact it can be fitted in the trunk without any primer pump. plus it seems like a verywell setup to me
