I wouldn`t of thought so, how about an STI 7/8 Cooler then?? think they`re good for 350+bhp..

Thing is, if he gets it fitted by a good tuner, the FMIC that is, they`ll make a great job...

I can understand him wanting to keep it looking pretty much standard. The thing is, an STi8 TMIC conversion won't be exactly bolt on either, although once done will look more factory than a FMIC which is a really obvious mod.

I think APS/Hyperflow do a uprated top mount but once your looking at 350bhp you should really be thinking of a FMIC. Not wanting to cut the bumper is once thing, and I had the same dilema, but there really is no contest when it comes to the intercoolers efficiency and being able to keep charge temps down, FMIC always comes out on top. Even with less than 350bhp a FMIC will help to produce more power.

Yes you can... try Mark at Lateral Performance, they do a fmic and radiator package that sits in the engine bay, which has the added benefit of allowing a shorter pipework length.

If that is using the Pace setup it uses a smaller radiator and the car runs hotter from what i've heard.

Not heard great thinks about the Pace setup. Whats wrong with a good FMIC? IMHO I think they can look good, maybe sprayed black with some black mesh?

Haven't heard great reports about the PACE FMIC.

How about buying another bumper / splitter and cut that to run the FMIC?

If you really want to change your TMIC then the STI 8 version onwards is the only one worth getting.

I'll be fitting a Hyperflow T/mount this week, looks a good piece of kit but they are expensive to buy new.. oh..and there meant to be a straight fit too.

This is not the Pace setup...But is a package that has seen service on some very noteworthy Subarus.

Alan Garrods UK500

Steve Darleys Time Attack wagon

Lateral Performance's STI 5

All 500bhp+ cars... From road to track
