Default ADVICE PLEASE

I crashed ny 98 sti the othor week i broke my rad and the 4 pulleys behind it does anybody know how much these pulleys should cost and would the ones from a 96 sti fit mine also once i get these parts and put them on do you think i could just start the car or would i need to do anything else, any advice would be great thanks.

98 is the change over year from phase 1 to 2 engines so might not fit - you have to check the back of the left hand inlet pulley for how many timing pickups you have.
On the other hand - if the pulleys are smashed and the cam timing has jumped,then you are looking at bent valves/heads off job.

Thanks merlin what do you chances of the engine being all right the car hit a pole but not TO hard the 4 pulleys broke in half tho?

unless the engine was not running at the time I would imagine you have at least bent some valves, if not worse.

engine out and remove heads to check unfortunatly.

A compression test once timed up is another option.

compression test is cheaper option but do not use the car until then to be safe - you might be lucky mate

Nice one lads, sorry for being a bit blond but what is a comperssion test and can it be done in any garage.

A compression test on the cylinders will reveal if the valves has been bend
