Default Classic "CHECK ENGINE" Light

I've found a couple of times now with my 93 WRX import that the CHECK ENGINE light on the bottom corner of the dash comes on after/during a long journey?

The car still performs fine and everything still seems to work ok but I'm wondering what this is?

How can I check for fault codes or even distinguish why this light is coming on mainly on longer journeys?

Thanks guys

Do you mean the wires for checking engine codes if so they are normally taped up.

Ah that may be why? Wouldnt it be easier to get it plugged into a diagnostics machine?

Diddy. I had a right **** trying to find them on my car, but trust me they are there. Mine were hidden behind the steering column.

Remove the plastic panel from under the steering wheel, this will make the job easier. Push the seat right back and lie on your back in the footwell, arm yourself with a bright torch. Now keep seaching for the wires, it becomes a bit of a blur as there are soo many wires there. Just take yer time and they ARE there...

Dan.

Connect the Black to Black to read out the code. Do not connect greens until you have done this or you run the risk of erasing any currently stored codes.
