Default Fitting an uprated actuator ?

I recently replaced my TD05 with a standard TD05 with 360 roller bearing after my original let go. It came with an uprated actuator but I used the old actuator at the time of fitting.

If I fit the uprated actuator will I need to get my car re-mapped or will the Apexi power-fc and boost controller just run the same boost.

The reason I want to fit the uprated actuator is because mine feels weak and it isnt reaching the higher boost levels that it should be.

My spec:
new EJ20 Engine with late 2005 spec WRX pistons fitted.
hks ssq blow off valve
TD05 16g with 360 roller bearing
GT SPEC GEN II ceramic coated headers & upipe
550cc injectors.
hybrid FMIC
Pipercross induction kit
Greddy s/s catch can
brand new coil packs fitted with new engine
apexi power fc mapped my pavlo(Paul@Zen performance)
apexi power fc commander.
apexi power fc boost controller.
sx fuel pressure regulator.
walbro 255 fuel pump.
straight through s/s exhaust, hayward and scott.

Well, fitted the uprated actuator today which has made a big difference. Set the Power FC to 1.2 bar and I get around 1.2-1.27 bar and set at 1.4 I get around 1.4-1.45

Will the car need re-mapping now then or should it be the same ?

I dont know,it came with my turbo which I think was rebuilt by Turbo Technics. The guy I got the turbo from said it was running 1.4 bar with that actuator fitted.

It seems to be doing what it should on my car,set the Power FC to 1.0 bar and thats what it runs,1.2 and 1.4 are all fine.
The big difference is that its reaching say 1.2 bar lower down the revs and then holding that rather than before I was only getting 1.2 at about 6000rpm !

i got my uprated actuator from T.D. - although they offer a choice i'd imagine yours will crack at 1bar

So the big question is,will the car need re-mapping or the map tweaked or should it be ok ?

i think it may do, if you are running more boost, in lower parts of the map than before, it could be less fueling at that point.

this is just a guess though

The previous owner had it dyno'd @ 340bhp-320lb/ft but that was before he had the GT spec ceramic coated headers and up-pipe fitted.

Im hoping to get it on the rollers soon to see what it can do

i would e-mail/call someone like bob R/Andy F but i my understanding is fitting one is that it allows you to map more agressively with the boost. On that basis you may not need a remap but what would be the point of fitting one without?

like i said i would ask one of the 'professionals' to be sure

The point of fitting the uprated actuator was because my old one seemed to be getting weak. Whatever I set the boost to,it wouldnt reach that level unless I kept my foot down to around 6000rpm.

Now it reaches the set level almost instantly
