HELP, Radiator losses 1 litre in 2 days!!!
hi, all,
As per title, my97 sti import.
It looses about 1 litre in 2 days of driving (approx. 20 miles a day).
So every morning needs top up half litre.
Been happening for a month now. have'nt really had time to sort it out until now.
No sign of leaking on the drive or after shopping?
Driving speed is normal (rarely red lines).
Any info on this?
Is it an easy job?

mostlikely a hairline crack in the side of the radiator as they are plastic..
check down the side of the radiator after a drive.
Also check by the headlight/battery, if it is wet there after a drive on boost then it is most likely the head gasket gone, as the water system is pressurised and it comes out of the overflow.

This afteroon, most of the liquid had gone after a motorway drive!! I filled it up again and found that the leak was a small hole at one corner of the finned area. Can this be fixed??!
cheers mike

I wouldnt be driving it at any speed with this problem. Motorway and no water is asking for a head gasket failure. Replacement recon, sometimes done as an exchange for your old unit should cost around 90.

the problem with exchange is the plastic end tanks.. ie. they don't usually out live the core, unless the core has taken a stone.
just get a new one. Ebay is the cheapest place I have seen them
