Default Just a Re-map, worth it?

Hi,

Wondering if anyone just re-maps their Scooby and performs no other mod?

If so what are the results, and are you satisfied?

Thanks!

I did it with only a centre pipe decat, got 273 bhp (but that was by Andy F).

Still I aways regretted not changing the up-pipe (£135) and sportscat downpipe (£300 from Scoobyworld/API).

Reckon you should change these bits and go for it !

Andy

(up-pipe assumes Newage).

01 fugly WRX mate. (other mods include Prodrive headlights ).

I'm off to the pub. See you all in 8 pints. Reckon I'll make even less sense then !

PS On a Newage you'd get 280 -290 bhp with the exhaust bits, plus a lovely low down spool !

It is a MY00? If so I think you can, if it is ECUTEK.

I don't know personally but I do know that '99 onwards ones can have the re-map and if you add in the extra "bits" you will probably get some quite good gains!

So if I want to just re-map my Scooby then the gains will only be limited?

At the moment I dont feel up to spending too much money on all the extras to get the BHP up.

Anyone done just that?

A remap will be the single biggest difference you can make, especially on a stock car. Once you've paid for the ecutek licence subsequent maps will be much cheaper.

When Subaru create a map for a standard car they have to consider they give you 3 years warantee, therefore map it safely to allow for this. So yes if your willing to push it there are big gains to be had by just having a good map.

Also it will be tailored to your car as a pose to a generic one

Not possible mate... get yourself over to .:ImprezaSport.net:. and see what the rest of the n/a boy's are up to. You will be far better off looking at suspension mods (springs and anti roll bars) and improving the braking this way you will have a faster safer handling car... you can go quicker without more power
