STi8 intercooler = lag ??
G'day my fellow scoobynetters !
I fitted an STi intercooler on my 01 WRX at the weekend. Have had a better chance to drive it out of the traffic (but haven't thrashed it). Anyway, it's a bit more rev happy once going, but it seems to have developed some lag that wasn't there before. If i sit at 3000 revs and blip the throttle there is a wee delay.
Any thoughts people ? I haven't fitted anything else. It's either the intercooler itself, the original STi hoses or the fitting (it all seems pretty tight). The DV is as before.
The car was remapped last year and will be again in a few weeks.

With the greatest respect to Butty, I'd still be taking it easy though, two cars of the same MY and spec can differ quite significantly!

The Samco's are a bigger internal bore then the Ally pipe. I think there's a picture on my DIY intercooler thread : https://www.scoobynet.com/projects-4...ht=intercooler

Scott T (banned), where did you get the STI samco hose and how much..?
Hadn't realised there was that much difference. Smoothed my alloy one off, but still not as smooth as that samco one..
