When i had my last car done by scooby clinic i did indeed think 'wow'. It is a good route to go down. I had a 99 wrx ra v-ltd and after a re-map it was a shade under 310 bhp with torque to match. It made a hell of a difference considering all i had done was free flow the exhaust and put in a high flow panel filter.
Just got to get my S202 mapped now to enjoy the same benefits as before.

bit of advice, make sure if yur planning to have any mods done, air filters, decat, headers etc etc, you have them done before the map is done.

and also be very very warry of the goodies room, for your wallets sake lol

tidgy, i've been told that standard filter is ok and the gains from k&n, green etc are not worth bothering.
Is this not wright? as i have just put a new standard filter in last week when it had the service.

the k and n pannel filter (sits in the airbox so uses standard system) is good for few bhp extra, and iirc only £50 ish, bear in mind you need to replace air filters at some point anyway so might as well do it when you'll get the bennefit from the remap as well.

norm the bad ones are induction kits and are due to too much oil on the filter damaging the maf sensor and causing engine damage, also heat soak can be an issue due to it sitting in the engine bay, so a good pannel filter id by far the best option, unless your forced to change to an induction kit cos of a front mount intercooler
