my engine just wont fire up?
as aboth, it turns perfect. just wont fire up
i've rebuilt the engine, put sti pistons in there. its got sti v2 metal pullies too.
i even checked all the cams. all in series, the timing of the belt is fine too. when i turn over manually, theres plenty of compresion. i'm getting a spark, & fuels getting in. all the coils were new in jan, the plugs are new. i've got a esl chip in there, i changed the roms in there. but seems fine
i did take the car to a garage, but they never found the problem. infact i got done over. it was in for a diagnostic, but ended up paying for 7 hours. they dident even put the car back together. & to top that, they corsed £350 worth of damage. thats a trading standards jobby.
but what would corse the car not to start?
any ideas.

First of all. When you turn on teh ignition, does the "check engine" light illuminate? If not then there is a problem with the ECU.
Allthough with spark and fuel I would say you're ECU is okay. I would wager you have the coilpacks in backwards or something. There are two leads for each side (obviously) and the WHITE connector goes to the FRONT. It's easy to get them wrong, and a bitch to diagnose when you do, because everything seems okay.
