Default Urgent-what is the cylinder in this picture



As title my mate has just phoned me to ask what it is as his has just pissed out a lot of fluid (whilst driving).

(car is a 94 wrx)

I think its a purge tank for the fuel.

It is a carbon canistor. It absorbs fumed from the fuel tank. There should be no liquid going through it.

I removed mine from my car and I've got the bare hoses venting to air.

cheers it's actually sprayed yellow liquid, quite thin wtf is it (brake fluid?) so i'm guessing he just assumed it came from the canister.
