Default probs with idle

can anyone tell me where the idle control valve on a '99 classic is ?
Had probs with the car cutting out after doing some serious booting.....it the cuts out because when I slow down, the revs cut to zero, try to recover but sometimes it cant and cuts.
Is there anything I can check or alter to sort this problem out or is it a garage jobby?

could well be the maf sensor.. worth resetting the ecu and check it drives okay still the ecu will learn to a failing maf sensor.. reset and it runs like a dog.. new maf sensor needed.

the idle stepper motor is on the rear righthand side of the inlet manifold infront of the intercooler.
