Default clutch or not

hi all,
bought my 2000 classic shape 5 weeks ago and noticed when i accelerate hard revs rise fine in first and second but in third and fourth when it gets to 3000 revs it seems to jump to 4000 and sit there till my speed catches up then seems fine in fifth any ideas anyone ?

ok thanks people what type and where would you suggest i get one from its a standard car apart from induction kit and stainless exhaust with de cat downpipe is original

what are scooby clinic like just they only 5 or so miles away

I havent had anything to do with them personally, but they also have a fantastic reputation on this board
