Default Remap after fitting fmic?

Is a remap necessary after fitting a front mount on a UK MY00?

Other mods its already got are - TD05 turbo, walbro fuel pump, apexi power fc commander/ecu and remap, decat exhaust.

Interested in this one too...

I dont think so, but you'd get a power benefit if you did.
Have you had it remapped since putting the turbo on?

All the mods were done by the first owner and i think it was mapped after they were all done.

I was thinking it wouldnt really need a remap but then i'm no expert!

Was going to ring scoobyclinic and ask them but they'd probably say it would need an hour or two on the rr, which i aint keen on at all.

My MY94 WRX has a front mount, etc. Mine produces 330bhp on standard engine management. No remap here.

Whats the point of buying and fitting a front mount and not getting it mapped to get more power from it?

You should get it checked as a minimum, the cooler air will have more oxygen in it so you will need more fuel to go in. Also the boost response will need to be changed, if you dont your turbo will not spool as quick as it should.

If you change to a different turbo or fit a FMIC you must get a re-map or at the VERY LEAST have your fueling checked by someone that knows what they are doing with a wide band lambda and DET cans.

You need a remap to get the best (or even an advantage) from fitting an FMIC or different turbo and failure to do so before you start giving it the beans COULD result in tears.

Is there anyway you could drive the car without causing damage? Say off boost?
How would one get to a mappers after fitting a FMIC or turbo?

Running in low boost or off boost will be fine but if you start using the turbo above half a bar (7psi) its gonna need a fair bit more fuel and with out it problems may occur.

Just drive it gently trying to stay off boost and avoiding high load/revs. Not a big problem.
The problem comes when you want to see how good it is with the FMIC and give it large. Chances are the AFRs are too weak on boost and at higher boost you will pick up a piston in the bore, POSSIBLY.
Also be cautios and look out for DET.

Its already had a remap after the other mods. I'm only pondering a fmic. It runs ok as is so i may just leave it well alone.
Thanks for the pointers.

I put an induction kit and complete de-cat exhaust on my MY01 Bugeye STI but did not get it mapped. I paid a high price as the engine went pop due to the fuel leaning right out.

Cost me an engine rebuild!!

Just isn't worth the risk mate!!
