Taking engine out
Has anyone done this im half way but before i get to the underside how do i take the prop shaft off the gearbox, Im hoping to lower it all to the floor then pull the engine and box out on a crate then split it but i dont want to damage anything

Remove the 4 bolts that connect the prop to the rear diff,(13mm IIRC) then undo the two support bolts (14mm IIRC) whch are located next to the bearing in the middle of the propshaft. once all undone and the rear of the prop has been pulled away from the rear diff connecting face (it may need some gentle persuasion) the prop should slide straight back and out of the gearbox.
Handy to have something to put onto the back of the gearbox straight away as you will find oil leaks out once the prop is off- you can use a rubber glove and a cable tie to stop it leaking all over you and the floor.
