Default engine light

if my MAF is playing up will my engine light come on? as i have like a stutter on my car around when the boost comes on and driving around normaly as i aproach boost and have been advised this is the maf. is a 1998 uk spec scooby. should say engine light isnt coming on.

l had to replace the MAF on my 99 wagon last week, no warning light apart from the stuttering going on boost l noticed petrol consumption was up. ECU didnt even show a MAF fault code.

how much was your maf mate and where you get it? yea noticed the petrol thing to got aroun 90 miles off this tank.

Bought from AWD Motorsport Engineering for subaru, mitsubishi, nissan performance car modification, servicing, spare parts and helpful advice worked out at £88. You could try giving your MAF a clean? didnt work for me, but was worth a try.
