what header's will give me most torque.......
.... i am after some advice.
i want to find out what header set-up will give me the biggest torque gain.
either;
tubular s/s un-equal lenght header's
tubular s/s equal lenght header's
standard header's ported
all would be heat wraped obviously.

the gain of equal vs unequal is an unproven one on scoobs. Best stick to the ones known to cause no issues. These are either the gruppe-s (2 bolt up-pipe) and gt-spec (3 bolt up-pipe). I have the gruppe-s and in 2 years have never given me any trouble.

Had my 2 bolt Gruppe S on for 3 years now @ 1.6 bar and all is perfect, inc the flex up-pipe. Buy quality once.
As to best for torque at the sacrifice of top end, I think you will find the ported stock unit's best.
You can get a set from David at Welcome to the API website

Any mod on it's own will be compromised, bring a few all to gether and the effect can be very good, but you will need about £1000 to really feel it.
Maybe 5% increase in everything.

That is a good basis to start from.
An Apexi FC would release more boost and control the fuel/ignition well.
You will then get the low/mid range torque you want for a good drivable road car.
