What mods for £1700-£2000?
Right then i,m thinking of a bit more power for my Subaru:
MY01 (classic) UK Turbo, 38,000 miles, FSSH
Owned for 2 years and i've decided to keep it for a while and spend a bit of money on her.
At the moment it has a Prodrive back box and Magnex decat centre.
I'm thinking of a Sports cat downpipe (Ninja type), green panel filter, TEK 3 remap and maybe a different turbo. So i need some ideas on what turbo, what power to expect and likely costs. If any one has any recommended companies for fitting in the midlands (Birmingham) that would be great too.
I want the same kind of power characteristics as the standard car but just quicker if you know what i mean.
Hope you can help

dont think you could include a new turbo with your budget you would have to get a secondhand turbo I would guess. the most likely one being the vf28 from an sti5 or P1. plus all you mentioned above plus port your own headers.

Ninja sports cat approx £300
Panel filter £50
Ecutek remap arround £650
Colder plugs (7's) £30
Walbro fuel pump £100
and maybe an adjustable regulator (£200) and a 3-port solenoid (£50) if needed.
So you got money left to spend on a turbo. Some of your options are:
VF34,VF28 and a 16G
I'd go for either a VF34 or if on a tighter budget a VF28 because of the spool characteristics. Both will easily get you over 300bhp, with good driveability spool...

Depends on what you plan to use your car for, if drag racing is your thing then just engine mods for day to day fast road use i would look at spending some money on the handling and brakes, not just the engine and ecu.

I'll upgrade the pad material, the discs are grooved items at the mo. I don't really drive it hard - especially on corners! or brakes. I just want mine to have a little more oomph to keep me happy for a couple more years.
