Default air-con question

when my air-con is on it smells like a pair of old socks.i've had this before and it just needed sanitising to get rid of the smell.
but this time it still smell's when just the heater is on which i've never had before any idea's??

The smell is caused by a bacteria inside the AC system. You'll need to take it to Subaru to get it cleaned. Not sure how much it'll cost but don't think it's too pricey. It's apparently a common fault with AC units of today. You may also notice the windows steaming up when the AC is switched on, that's another sign of bacteria.

Once you get it sorted mate make sure you use ac on regular basis (even in winter) as this will keep it circulating and stop any crap settling.

Run on A/C high heat for a while and leave the windows open.

Go down to trusty Halfords and buy AC cleaner.

Its in a can that you place inside the car while the AC is on... its an aerosol which consistantly sprays out bacteria nutralising chemicals while the AC circulates.

My friend just used it in his M3 and it did the trick!
