i know my car has got an obd-11 plug, its a 2004 wrx but there are that many different types of scanning/reset tools available

can anyone confirm if any tool that is obd-11 compliant will work on my car or has it got to be a specific type?

you need an ISO compliant unit, not the , er, othere protocol which vag and bmw use. So long as its ISO, any unit should work. Software can be downloaded off the net fairly readily

i was looking at a geniscan gs 400 as it can tell live data also it is iso 9141 compatible anyone know if this will work on subaru?

the gs400 is a handheld scanner

go to ebay and search item number 330090926713 they are £48 plus postage
