ARE ESL CHIPS ANY GOOD ?
Are the esl chips any good ? my v7 ecu is already chipped but peaks at 12psi , spoke to scott t as he thought it may be one of his (the car was chipped before i got it ) but it isnt . he said he can look at my chip to see how its been mapped as 12psi seems a bit low and remap it or supply me a new remapped chip , but i cant get hold of him and his inbox is full ! thinking of buying an esl chip of ebay from them but just wanted to get peoples opinion first as scott can supply me a new chip at a better price but cant get hold of him ! i know that andy and scott know each other and are both very good at what they do , but im after a new chip asap and just wondered if the esl ones are as good or the same as scott t can do ? what do you think (i hope this doesnt cause any tension between them if they both read it as its not meant to!!)

Have you tried the search function? There's loads of threads on this!
I started the first GB of them, they come highly recommended by me and others that bought them.

If its already got a scoobyecu in it then scott T is your man, if you send the chip off to him and ask very nicely then he may be able to remap the chip for a fraction of the cost of a new esl chip. But yes ESL chips are very good, as are scoobyecu's.

I like but then I'm biased! If it's a 27C1028 (single chip) then Scott may be your only hope!
Alot of things get called scoobyecu, but some are more worthy than others! Who changes the numbers in the ROM is more important than which board/chip you have.
Of the people currently selling pre 96 JECS postal maps, I know Scott and ourselves know how they work, and historically Paul Blamire and David Wallis could map them but tend not to now. Pat Herborn is also worthy. Not sure I'd want anyone else changing the critical numbers in my pre 96 JECS!
I think we are on the brink of a new way of working the early JECS which will obviate some of the difficulties associated with the 'blind mapping' of postal maps and allow the maximum to be extracted from the car without breaking the bank. I have been live mapping my JECS ECU for quite a while now
Cheers
