Hello just noticed when siting at traffic lights car felt as though it was jumping around, got home lifted the bonnet and engine was moving from side to side anyone got any ideas.

are they the 2 engine moutings? if so how will I tell if they are worn.

look to see if they are cracking and perished
using a prybar see if there is excessive movement in the rubber
it could be the engine is running lumpy rather than wear in mountings
does it stop moving if you slightly lift off idle?
also have you noticed any knocking and sensation of engine moving around when driving the car?or is it just on idle the problem occurs?

 

it still happens when you lift off just not as noticeable and noticed on idle rev counter was normal but boost guage was moving up and down it all started to happen went to get a new gasket for headers to up pipe the one on is blowing, went to garage put some fuel in then on the way back home, garage to home is about 2 miles car started to feel heavy and did not feel as though it was pulling very well did not try to go into boost got out outside of house opened the drive gates pulled on lifted the bonnet and engine was all over and there was slight knocking when I slightly open the throttle, its snowing at the minute so can't get out to put new gasket on and check moutings.
I know the oil level is ok as ive been checking the oil and water daily since just after xmas when I had my heads done.

 

Sounds like a mis-fire to me - plug breaking down or coil pack??

 

been out and put the new gasket on, started up and idleing better but from 1500 rpm up knocking put your hand on the engine and it feels as though something is hitting the block??
could this be the shells have gone.
