Default Uprated fuel pump

Hi, in need of some help

Got a 94 Wagon with several mods (De Cat, Front Mount etc. etc.).

Purchased a Walboro 255 uprated fuel pump and car kept cutting out. Lack of fuel / too much pressure.

Do i need a fuel pressure regulator? and if so, any recommendations?

Thanks in advance

an uprated pump shouldnt cause the car to cut out unless there was some kind of wiring short. If the regulator wasnt working as it should, then the car would overfuel. Is it simply boost cut that you are hitting (higher gears and you get a violent cut off?)
