Question bonnet vents...

as i've heard we can remove the covers from the vents to improve cooling under bonnet, but my question is can we stay with the vents opened during a rainy day without arming the engine?
cheers

From what I've seen ion other posts.
I think that you will actually end up getting higher temps, due to the way the air flows out through the vents not in.

But more importantly if you jave a cone filter you run the risk of water getting into the MAF sensor.

no cone filter, standard airbox with green filter.
so it's better keep the covers fitted?
i've had other people who said the contrary.
don't know what to do...

run my classic for 2 years with the covers removed with cone filter, now back with standard air box in all weather conditions including heavy rain and snow never had problems, if cone filter is waterproof cant see how maf damaged???? dont see how air flowing in or out would increase the temp. when stationary must let heat out, when moving enough air through fornt of car.

Thumbs up from me too. Ran my old STi 3 with no covers and ungaraged for two years with induction kit, etc with no probs at all. Not sure about cooling benefits thought - bought mine with covers removed!
