URGENT HELP NEEDED SCOOBY APART
Hi have new lambda sensor have old one out now abit confused old one has 3 wires 1xred 1xblack 1xwhite new one has 2xwhite 1xblack. Now common sense says white to white, white to red and black to black. Is this right please help anyone.....
the 2 whites on the sensor go to the red and black on the plug and the black wire on the sensor goes to the white wire on the plug. Hope you got a decent sensor, i put a cheap £20 one in recently, it lasted 2 weeks, bought a bosch one this time hopefully it will last a bit longer
the black wire from the new sensor should go with the wire from the old plug that has the gold connector inside it. The other two connectors in the old plug have silver connectors and they are for the heater, they go to the white wires and does not matter which way round.

This is the the correct way to wire it i have changed these many times now and i also agree with the £20 lambda point as i have also used two of these (so called) cheap lambda's and they have both failed within months and i am also now on a Bosch sensor.
JUST TO CLARIFY
-----------------
On the original plug:
Red & Black = Heater
White = Signal Wire
On the new Lambda
2 Common Colour Wires = Heater (Can be wired to either black or red)
Single Colour Wire = Signal Wire

Take it easy once you have done it.
It will idle a bit lumpy after you do it but that will go away after a few minutes of driving once the ECU has learnt.

Thanks alot sussed it now sorry i am abit dumb when it comes to this sort of stuff the scooby is like nothing i have ever worked on before. Still on the learning curb only had the scooby 9 months and usually have some one do the work for me but the garage wanted £230 for the sensor plus vat and £50 plus vat to fit it it was a subaru dealer mind you so probably would have been geniune part. With a little bit of help from you guys i have done it and its only cost £40. Many thanks would like to think i will be able to return the favour by helping you all on day but unless its to do with roofing i doubt i will cos my scooby knowledge is minimal...
Its a good one not your ebay rubbish. By not geniune i meant not got subaru logo. The one i took out was a bosch so thats what i put back in i believe it was the original one the car had when built as the loom was complete.
