Whats the difference between a td04 and a vf23.

Mine came fitted with a vf23 on my99 classic. just wondering wot if any differnce this will have made and wot difference will it make after a remap?

lol!!! ihi vf23 is arollerbearing turbo used on the type r!! will produce around 330bhp compared to the tiny td04 which will make max 290!!! two differant turbos altogther if your selling it i will have it and gladly give you a td 04 in excahnge thats done 25k and i will even fit it for you!! the good thing about the td 04 is it come son boost at as low as 1500rpm wereas the vf23 around the 3000 mark but the vf23 will go all the way to8250 were as td04 runs out of puff at 6k!!!

 

So its def better having the vf23 then.

Will it make a diff to the car without a remap??


Not drove another apart from mine, but my mate has and he says that its faster than any standard classic hes drove.

 

yeah of course its the better turbo although its weaker its the chocie turbo to have and if you get it mapped you need suporting mods to gain the most out of it. it isnt a case of shove the turbo on and you have 300bhp plus it doesnt work like that!! you have to upgrade on a few other items such as tmic walbro fuel punp fuel regulator exhaust de cat etc etc although you could get it mapped to your car as it is now but imho i wouldnt i would get all mods on 1st

 

got afterburner vortex backbox and middle decat. ninja sports cat. Nxt purchase is an uprated fuel pump.

then off for a remap.

 

get td04 and sell me your vf 23!!!!
