Default Would 740cc injectors give me 400bhp at 3bar of pressure?

For people in the know.

I am looking to run my 2002 STI at roughly 400bhp and i know i need to get my ECUTEK mapped to roughly 1.5-1.6 bar at the top end of rpm to produce this.

I know i need to up the fuel pressure from 3bar to 3.5 or 4bar to be able to keep existing 505cc STI Pink injectors and dont have an adjustable regulator to do this.

If i was to purchase a set of 740cc injectors could i just use standard fuel pressure to run 400bhp and therefore not have to purchase an adjustable fuel pressure regulator?

You'll need a big turbo and supporting mods to get 400.

Oops you posted before I read your other post.

I'm running 650's to get 400, and a friend on mine is running 650's also. I run an SX fuel reg with mine, and he doesn't.

Will they run ok and give me 400bhp+ on standard fuel pressure then?

Got mine here:

650cc Injectors Subaru Impreza 00-06 Flat4online.co.uk Subaru Impreza Mitsubishi Evolution EVO Walbro Fuel Pumps Injectors Intercoolers

I run 3.7 hot idle with the SX reg. I can find out what pressure my mate runs with the SX.

well he has to be running 3 bar surely as that is the standard, but does it also give him the ability to run 400bhp?

thanks for you help, if you could find out that would be great

ahh so it can run 450 ok then, but that must be higher fuel pressure no and with an adjustable reg.

I just want to know if can run 400bhp on standard fuel pressure with either 650s or 740s so not to have to buy a reg?

Scoobboy,

650cc injectors will run 400bhp without a reg'.

I also carry the 650cc injectors, at competitive prices.

The answer to the original question is yes, 740's will be more than adequate, 650's will also hit 400 at std fuel pressures however you would need an uprated fuel pump in any case (Walbro 255).

I would change to 800's to go past 440 on factory pressure using the oem new age ecu.

With a MD321H you would only need to run at 1.4 bar to click over 400 bhp on the std engine btw. Been there mapped that as they say, and most of those using 550cc injectors at std pressure.

cheers

Scoobboy,

If you can get Subaru fit 650cc injectors for £200, please let me know where from.

Here's a comparison of a re-mapped P1 running a VF28, v an MD321H on the same car.

The MD321H competes very well low down with the much smaller VF28, and then goes on to give another 87bhp !

Both mapped, and information supplied by Bob Rawle.

Bob

Can this be achieved on an 01 JDM STI using the standard top mount intercooler and a full 2.5" scoobysport decat exhaust system or is a FMIC and 3" exhaust system required ?

Thanks

Scoobboy,

I don't sell the Sard brand, I sell the Power Enterprise brand, which uses a different method to seal the bottom o ring, which I prefer.

The Power Enterprise have an extra groove, and o ring, and they are a bit more expensive than the Sard.

If you want to call me, I'll see what I can do for you. Alternatively, I have the Fuelab billet regulator kits in stock, which with increased fuel pressure, should give you 400bhp on the STi Pinks, and save you money.

Mark.

Can you pm me how much you want for the regulator and fittings needed to connect to my rail.

Is it a hard job to fit and whats involved and what is max bhp can be produced safely on pinks

on the 505's with increased fuel pressure?

With the fuel pressure set to make them flow like 550's it would give 400 tops wouldnt it?

Should be able to get a bit more than 400bhp, but it depends on the engine, mod's, and mapping.
