Default is anyone else's new age sti a bit sluggish at starting at the mo?

when i start in the morning (and in the evening at work while it's been cold) the engine seems really slow to get up to idle revs.

not as in slow turning over to point to the battery, it fires up after 1 second or so. it just struggles to build up the revs when i go 500 yards down the road to get a paper and start it up again it'll get up to 1500odd revs straight away.

is it just the oil being a bit thicker in the cold mornings, to be honest it had seemed to do this since i had an oil change to 5-40 oil (hardly a thick oil!)

or does it point to something more sinister, or is it something other people are experiencing?

any thoughts would be appreciated before i give it to the dealer to see what they think.

if it is only when cold it could be the coolant temp sensor not registering how cold it is and not enriching fuel and increasing idle to accomodate for it

Very occasionally mine does this, fires up instantly but splutters, sometimes starting sometimes dying. Second attempt starts as normal.

It doesnt do it when cold-cold (ie over night start), usually after it's been running (properly warmed) then stood for an hour or two..

Occasionally get rpm Idle almost die too, been told this could be idle control valve gunged up. Have tried cleaning with carb/brake cleaner and so far this has stopped idle issue, however starting issue still occurs, albeit occasionally..!
