Default how can you tell between a sti and a wrx engine!

as above. not sure what engine in my scoob. can you tell whitch engine is it with engine number??? and how. cheers

usually the inlet manifold is red !! but it should also have an sti intercooler

intercooler is blank. its a my96 import by the way

by the way i know the body is a wrx. but the bloke i bought it off said he was sure it had a sti engine!!!???

yea how do u tell cos mine has no sti on the intercooler and its a jdm tommy kaira edition but yet when i spoke to subaru they said it is a wrx sti?????

me no i new it was a tk model it has the plate under the bonnet but the guys at subaru say its just a wrx sti wi the tk options with it plus it does have the jdm wrx sti silver and red badges on the back????

They're badges off a new age car.

Graphics are awful IMHO, each to their own though.

post up the code in the passenger wing....wagon sti's are very rare... the code should read like this gf8c4ed if its an sti.... i wouldnt hold too much hope of it being an sti though !!!!!! engine bay pics will help but not definitive !!

even a red inlet would not confirm an sti engine as the version 1 stis dont have a red top engine.i doont think they were added untill a latter model then the version 1s

Agree on both counts. Jesus, how crap do the STI stickers on each wing-mirror look? It looks like it's wearing cheap earrings from Elizabeth Duke or summat.

sti wagons had different top rear spoiler too and i seriously doubt its an sti but i have been wrong before but i dont think i am this time...pics and full plate code will tell all !!!

you arent putting up the right codes buddy. it will be like this..gf8c4ed . the ej2o is just the fact that its a 2.0litre engine...have a look again..

got the right code its GF8B58D and ive just checked the code in my haynes impreza turbo book and it says wrx wagon sti version
