... a TD04 is the stock turbo on a UK MY97? What sort of power is it capable of (with supporting mods) and what would be a good logical upgrade retaining quick spool up?

tdo4 will max out at about 270-280 , and ull notice a very noticable lack of power top end 5500-7000rpm , it runs out of steam very quickly , ive converted to a tdo5 front entry , which spool up later but pulls right to the redline ......... to be honest i think the tdo4 is a better day-day turbo if ure not racing everything that moves on youre way to work ..... spools up atlot quicker and earlier

270 - 280 Ek!!! Think i need another turbo . Is a TD05 FE a direct replacement for the 04 on the 97 or is there more work (aside from mapping) / parts involved?
