Standard one works just fine - do a search you will find many pages of light banter on dump valves

HKS still seems to be about the best rated of the VTA's
Forge recirc if you wanted to replace with another recirc one.

Uprated K&N/Green panel filter also works just fine in case your next question is about induction kits

HKS all the way, they're ina sound of they own. They are pricey. Shop around a bit as they do vary for £200 to £300 dependant on where you get them from. Ebays a good place but steer clear of HKS type or HKS look dump valves, as they are nearly all fakes, and there's plenty of them about and they are no where near as good. My mate bought one and found out the hard way.

A 'whooshy' dump valve will make your car very jerky on/off throttle, run rich, cause bore wash and sound very, very gay.
Don't do it!

A turbo'd car needs a dump valve, blow off valve whatever you want to call them. The question is do you want the sound or not?

In my opinion I like the sound. I have a HKS and I've never had a problem with it. During general briving you don't notice it, but with a little more peddle it sounds great. So it doesn't get on you nerves unless you're booting it around all the time.

For a dump valve that makes a noise (atmosphic) go with HKS, Greddy, Blizt etc all the main makes are the same they just produce a different sound.

There is no extra performance gains, and only very very slightly affect turbo spool up.

If you choose to stick with the recircualting type, without the noise, I've never seen much point in upgrading to a different type other than standard unless your exsisting one is broke.

We're all (well most of us anyway) using the standard recirc dump valve. It works just fine.

When air enters the engine it has been metered by the MAF in order for the ECU to provide the appropriate amount of fuel. By using a VTA dump valve you will vent that metered air. Therefore the fuel that has been provided won't get burnt and will end up running down into your sump - known as bore wash.

APS Twin Vent.

Set to recirc to around 80% boost, and vent to air at 80+% boost.

That sounds absolute ****e..!

A bit like an extremely wheezy asthmatic running the marathon with a rucksack full of nuts and bolts on his back..

Do yourself a favour and stay with the oem recirc..
